This Tuesday was rather different from the norm as we stepped away from the screens for our spring team activity - archery tag!
Filled with excitement and apprehension for the afternoon ahead, we left the comfort of our desks and bundled onto a coach which was headed to a field in the middle of Essex.

Once we'd donned our overalls it was time to be divided into teams - the blue team aka 'Team Green' and the red team aka 'Team Custard' - and the battles commenced!
Armed with a bow and (foam-tipped) arrows we ran around the field trying to take out the opposing team. There was lots of discussion around strategy, quick learning of tactics, and it was great to see everyone assume a role. This ranged from charging full steam ahead Terminator-style to (in my case) hiding behind an inflatable obstacle!
It's safe to say that at the end of the 2-hour session we were thoroughly exhausted! Team comradery, laughter and a few bruisers(!) were most certainly the upshot (get it?) of this fun-filled afternoon.
Thanks to Geoff for coming up with the idea, Amanda for organising everything, and of course James and Jonathan for making this part of our day - we all had a blast.

Here's what the team had to say about the day:
"I can proudly say I managed to get some good shots in, took a few arrows myself and enjoyed the time spent outside of the office with the team, something I feel is vital to keeping morale up and the element of fun alive within GC." - Amanda
"Planning our weekly sprints? Same as planning our strategy sprints to attack!" - Filipe
"I told him he would regret rejecting my pull request." - Gavin
If you'd like to be part of the Green Custard team and enjoy days like this, take a look at our jobs page as we're currently recruiting.
